what does this title mean to you?

The Knights are inside us  and the memories of our childhood for their courage, their bravery and their momentum of freedom.

For somebody they were a model to follow to become a better person. 

Even today, sometimes Love is unfortunately deprived of freedom and punishable by death so it requires this bravery to continue to exist. 

It’s important not to forget the child inside of us.

"God is love" and a gay kiss: provocation? or message of peace?

Where is the provocation?
 “God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” (1 Jn 4:16).

What's the perfect soundtrack for this new editorial?

A funeral voice, rising from the sound of the electric guitar of the French Electro band Spiral Dogma leader.

Tell us about the model casting?

These 8 people are Knights.

They lived discrimination for the color of their skin but they will never  judge or reject the differences.

Talking about human rights, what about China for your next work?

An important Chinese fashion magazine commanded me a fashion story 3 years ago.I sent them a love story between a French girl and … a Japanese guy.My work was immediately  rejected.  Anyway the Chinese people wake up more and more.Look at Russian people after the December elections ,they may become the most valiant and courageous Knights.

• Your photos are always been very close to the world of cinema...is this project the final step?

Since 13 years, all my fashion editorials integrate the « Stories concept » so each story is a never ending one and it will find her next chapters in the future:

2 lesbians of «Notre Amour » will fight against Nazism and Homophobia,

Mario Galla, the disabled hero of " Beyond my eyes, my muscles ‘ ll survive » save by Gustave Flaubert and « Madam Bovary » will continue to grow up and all my other existing characters ‘ll continue their dangerous Quest all around the World to found Love or Death.

• Tell us about your friendship (and collaboration) with Isabella Blow

We decided to collaborate with English Aristocraty to show fashion trought History.
Isabella respected photographers and designers‘s vision cause she was an Artist too.
She told me that my art and my ghosts will be my survival in fashion industry
Sometimes,i feel her in the wind.


• Is "Requiem Nostram" an allegorical story? Can we find any key symbols in it?
« Requiem nostraM » takes place in Europe in the middle of 15th Century,it talks about an unconventional love story judged and rejected by society and Religion.
It can look a little violent for a fashion editorial but fashion is just a reflection of our society nowadays…don’t you think we live in a society full of judgement and intolerance in Love?


• We are longing for more Glenisson's concept in the future, will we wait for long?
Actually,i’m working on an amazing and titanic concept in collaboration with the 20 most amazing international icons.
It’s coming !

"In order to celebrate the launch of the french fashion week IQONS.COM will unveil an exclusive series by the 24th of January at midnight.
That series, shot by a member of the french photography patrimony
discover by Isabella Blow (Alexander McQueen's pygmalion)who goes by the name of Franck Glenisson, is called « Requiem Nostram ». It will also be remembered as the comeback of Helmut Newton's past muse Sylvia Gobbel and transexual and underground icon of "Wilde side" (Best Actress Michel Simon Award),Stéphanie Michelini.

A Love and Death story (1539-1569) about Religion Power and Paradoxes.

1 The stories of your sessions are always so strong and charismatic...Is Franck that kind of person in real life?

« I'm » these stories,i'm a lesbian,i'm a child,i'm a dog,i'm a murderer...

2 Photography, cinema, retrò, future...where all that inspiration comes from?

From my roots and night-visions.

3 Last year you won Special Price of Jury in the French Fashion Talent Awards with "Beyond my eyes. my muscles'll survive", and this year you have been selected again with "Notre Amour"...are you ready for the double strike?

« Beyond my eyes,my muscles’ll survive » showed for the first time Mario Galla with his handicap.

»Notre Amour » show a lesbian love story without sex,just with tenderness.

I’m not sure that France is ready for that,but we’ll see.

In France,gays can’t give their blood.

4 This month you're gonna enter in French National Art Collection with "Beyond my eyes, my muscles'll survive", what does it feel like?

Before this fashion editorial,Fashion industry didn’t want to show Mario’s « difference »,it was very difficult for him to hide a part of him to work and pay his studies.Now he walks the catwalk for Hugo Boss and sign an Addidas Originals sponsoring-deal.Nothing change except everybody knows now.It’s a real victory for us.

5 What's the most important element in your creative process: concept? lighting? photographic technique?

Try to reflect our society.

6 What is your favourite kind of movie?

Documentaries

7 Does loneliness inspire Franck Glenisson?

I have too many ghosts in my head to feel alone.
